Use short, specific labels

Arrange the visual hierarchy

Move branches so related ideas sit near one another and connections do not become difficult to follow. Use color to distinguish major categories or status, not merely to decorate every bubble. Leave enough space for the map to grow and keep the most important branches prominent.

Review, prioritize and share

Read the map from the center outward. Remove duplicates, merge overlapping categories and add missing information.
